The Second counselor of the branch presidency at our district devotional told us a story of how he was called by the wife of a man he home taught late one night because he was in the ICU at the hospital. He was finding anyone to go with him to give him a blessing. Unable to find someone, he went alone and was very nervous about what he was was going to say to this near death man. He gave him a blessing and in the blessing he said that he would get better and live longer. He ended up living another 5&1/2 years. What Bro. Lindsay said to my district and I is that "the spirit blessed him through me." It amazed me that he so casually said that. He took no recognition, no pride, and looked for no reward. He was simply ready and willing. Truly what an amazing man of God. Whether Mormon or not, everyone needs to strive to be willing and ready to help anyone in their time of need.
This is my normal schedule:
6:30- wake up, shower, shave, pray
7:00- breakfast
7:30- personal scripture study
8:30- companion study
9:30- language study (spanish)
10:00- class learning the gospel/spanish
11:30- lunch
12:15- another class/ gym for 50 minutes
4:30- Dinner
5:15- class from another teacher/ study
9:00- plan the next day
9:30- shower, read, write in journal
10:30- lights out, go to sleep
the times change depending on the activity but that sums it up! If I want time to sit and relax or write a letter I have to eat quick because I told myself I would work every minute. And I am successful everyday. Love and miss you all,
Elder B. Spence

Hello Everyone!
Hello everyone! It's been a week since I have been here! I am staying soo busy and obeying all the rules. The only thing I can think of that is probably wrong is as a joke I set my alarm clock at 3:30 a.m and put it in our other districs room haha they weren't too happy about that the next day. I am studying so much and trying to learn as much as possible. There are a lot of words in spanish! I went to the temple this morning and it was super spiritual. Last nights devotional was awesome. Patrick Kearon of the 70 spoke. He spoke in the priesthood session about being bit my the scorpion, stung what ever lol. Anyways to make it quick, he quoted 3rd Nephi 7:18. It talked about angels administering to Nephi DAILY! I thought how cool that would be but right after I thought about how I am feeling the spirit here multiple times a day. It is the same feeling! Strive to have the spirit in your life. The spirit is a blessing and we must have it in our life. It will give us happiness in all things and help us in our time of need. Love our Savior and know that he knows you as an individual. I will send (mickie) a letter telling more to post because I got to go. I love you all so much. Checked In
Elder Spence is all Checked-In! Braden got to the M.T.C. this afternoon around 12:40 pm. Not much time for good-bye's, a quick drop off is protocol now. We had just a few seconds for last hugs and a quick picture or two.
Elder Braden Spence and Matt
He left with a big smile on his face!
I, Braden's sister-in-law will be keeping up his mission blog for him for the 2 years he'll be gone. Each week he said he will send me an e-mail and sometimes pictures to post on this blog. If you want to leave any comments on any posts i'll make sure they get to him the following week whether I print and mail them or e-mail them to him, depends on his mission rules. Also, to the left in the sidebar I will keep his current address updated. He will be in the Missionary Training Center-Provo learning to teach and preach in Spanish until the middle of April so get those letters and packages started!
